Xavier Taschini is a French classical pianist under the tutelage of Murray McLachlan at the RNCM. He previously studied with concertist Francois Chaplin at Versailles Conservatoire and John Byrne at Wells Cathedral School where he engaged in piano masterclasses with Christopher Elton, Natalia Romenska and Boaz Sharon.

He received an ABRSM prize for the best Grade 8 result in the South West of England. Xavier also won the Chamber Music Award for most promising piano trio ensemble as well as the U15 solo repertoire class at the Mid-Somerset Festival in Bath.

At the age of 9, Xavier was selected for the first European Junior Original Concert organised by Yamaha in the prestigious Salle Gaveau, Paris.

Xavier has also delivered recitals in the city of Leichlingen in Germany and at the Bach Festival in Denmark where he played with musicians from the Royal Danish Orchestra and DR's symphony orchestra.

Away from solo playing, Xavier spent a month in Sierra Leone at the Ballanta Music Academy where he taught piano, singing and theory to pupils of all ages and skill.

Traditional Finnish and Danish music are close to his heart and he hopes to bring that music to a wider audience.
